Tessa

Tessa Smith graduated from Columba College in Dunedin in 2024, where she completed NCEA Levels 1, 2, and 3 with Excellence endorsement, was awarded 6 NZQA Scholarships in Classics (2023, 2024), English (2023, 2024), Calculus (2024) and Art History (2024), achieved First Place awards in Calculus, Digital Technologies, Physics, and Classics, and graduated as Proxime Accessit. Additionally, in 2024 she was longlisted for the Girdler's Scholarship, and was selected to interview for Mathematics with Physics at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. 

Tessa is now in her second year of a pre-Honors BSc at the University of Canterbury, majoring in Astronomy with a minor in Physics. She has been awarded the Elaine P. Snowden Scholarship in Astronomy (2026) based on the excellence of her first year results, and a UC Summer Research Scholarship (2025) to research thin films over the summer.

In her spare time, she loves engaging in a wide range of creative and outdoor hobbies, including mountain biking, baking, crochet, painting, poetry, and hiking. 


Tessa can help your child with NCEA Level 1-3 in English, Classical Studies, Digital Technologies, Physics, and Calculus, and Chinese up to NCEA 1. Scholarship tuition in English or Classical Studies is also available on request.
